SZSE and the MNR Jointly Hold the Roadshow Week
The oceans are a strategic area for high-quality development, and maritime scientific and technological innovation is the fundamental impetus for building China into a maritime power. SZSE has always maintained close cooperation with the MNR in serving the development of the maritime industry. The two have jointly held the “Roadshow for Investment in and Financing of Small and Medium-sized Maritime Enterprises” during the China Marine Economy Expo for seven years straight. In 2020, SZSE and the MNR jointly launched the “CNI Blue 100 Index”, the first authoritative stock index in China on maritime economy. Since the base date, the index, which includes 75 sample stocks, has risen by 149% cumulatively. It has become a bellwether of the maritime economy.
This year, the activity was upgraded into a roadshow week. Five roadshows, namely, carbon neutrality of the maritime economy, marine information service and equipment, utilization of seawater and fishery resources, marine biological medicine, and intelligent shipping equipment and ocean energy. More than 20 maritime sci-tech companies from sea areas, coastal provinces and cities actively participated in the roadshows. With the full-process roadshow live streaming support provided by SZSE’s V-Next platform, the companies connected to more than 9,000 institutional investors and about 28,000 professional investors. The roadshow week further expanded the financing channels for the companies.
On the day of launch of the roadshow week, the National Marine Data and Information Service under the MNR and Shenzhen Securities Information Co., Ltd. (SSIC), SZSE’s wholly-owned subsidiary, promoted the “CNI Blue 100 Index” among the representatives of fund companies attending the activity and gave an introduction to the methodology of the index, the development of fund products, etc. Meanwhile, relevant experts lectured on the development of the maritime economy during the 14th Five-year Plan period, the connection of the maritime industry to the multi-tiered capital market and so forth.
Next, SZSE will, according to the plans and requirements of CSRC, the development plan for the maritime economy of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the requirements of building Shenzhen into a “Global Marine Center”, continue to deepen the cooperation with the MNR. We will actively give play to the role of the capital market as a hub to guide social capital in the direction of the maritime industries, promote the application and commercialization of maritime scientific and technological achievements, and drive the innovative transition of the maritime technologies so as to support the sound development of the emerging maritime industries.
