The principle of One Country, Two Systems is the biggest advantage for the development of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), Kent Lyu, regional director of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) for Eastern and Central China, told the Global Times at the ongoing China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai.

For the third quarter of 2022 (3Q22), the HKTDC Export Index increased by 1.9 points to 32.8, an improvement on both the 30.9 recorded for 2Q22 and 1Q22’s figure of 24.7. This indicates that many Hong Kong exporters are gradually becoming more optimistic with regard to their short-term prospects.

Activities on the first day will be held both physically and online at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre while the second day will be entirely online. As part of celebrations to mark the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, this year’s Belt and Road Summit will run under the theme “Heralding a New Chapter: Collaborate and Innovate”.
